| For many years, the founder of Kudzu-Free
Communities experienced discontent in witnessing kudzu’s ongoing
destruction of urban forests in the Metro Atlanta area. He determined
that the area's kudzu problem was not being adequately addressed on
an individual or community level. And he found that little detailed
information was available on how to effectively eradicate kudzu.
It became clear that the public needed a place
to go for usable information and resources on eradicating
kudzu. It also became clear that public perception toward kudzu
needed to change if its spread was to be stopped. Kudzu-Free
Communities was formed to meet these needs.
Mission
To prevent kudzu from further reducing the woodlands in
our urban forests through providing the public with information
and recourses to successfully eradicate kudzu and by working with
communities to create kudzu control policies that can be successfully
implemented to protect land owners who's land is being threatened
by kudzu that exists on bordering properties.
